Back to What?
Dear Heavenly Father,
We are praying that you will take hold of our Fall School engagements. We pray for the safety of our children across America as they venture out into public institutions.
Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them -Mark 11:24 (NKJV)
For many of us, we choose the option not to sleep-in but to rise a little early before anyone of our love ones are awake. We either use this time to workout and/or pray. The precious minutes we choose to pause and reflect allows and reaffirms to ourselves and God, that you put God first above all things. We are essentially pausing for a connection with God to be in his word and put things in perspective.
Here are three ways how starting every morning with prayer improves your entire day:
1. Praying Serves a Purpose
Starting your day off in prayer serves as a reminder of your purpose. When you focus on that concept as soon as you wake up, it’s enough to get me out of bed as I realize that my Almighty God is waiting to enjoy the day with me. When you wake up in prayer, or as soon as you get up and out of bed, you are reminded that life is about the relationship with God. Psalms 16:11 NKJV says “You will show me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
I John 5:14 (NKJV): Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
2. Prayer Increase Your Focus & Productivity
Starting your morning in prayer can help you sharpen your focus and perspective. By going to God in prayer each morning, we are prioritizing our relationship with God and everything else will fall into place. Throughout my years, I have found that when I take the time to start my day in prayer – the earlier the better, I find that I am able to bring calm and focus first with my relationship with God. I feel grounded and connected and everything else that I need to take care off seems to fall into place.
3. Prayer Can Decrease Your Anxiety
By starting your day in a quiet reflection and prayer, you are opening the channels of communication with God throughout the day, which is a reminder that you are never alone. For me, prayer helps me to focus on our Almighty being in control, and not me. Starting our day with prayer also brings peace into our morning and keeps chaos from crashing into our daily routines.
Can you make time for God each morning to start your day off with focus, preparation and perspective? Taking a moment to reflect and focus on his word will allow us to compose our thoughts as well as prioritize our day. Above all things, our relationship with God is why we are here. When we are focused in prayer, the rest comes together.
By starting every morning with prayer, you will find that you will slow down and pay attention to what matters and allow yourself to bring calm when your day seems hectic or demanding. Wishing you love and prayer each morning.

II Corinthians 5:17 (NKJV)
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
James 5:16 (NKJV)
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
