How do I get to Waukegan Community Church?

Waukegan Community Church is located at 1016 Grand Avenue, Waukegan, IL 60085. Whether this is your first time visiting or you’re returning after some time away, we want your arrival to feel simple, welcoming, and stress-free.

Our Sunday worship service begins at 10:30 AM. During this service, we offer Children’s Church, with engaging activities designed for children and young people.

You are also welcome to join us before worship for Adult Education classes, held from 9:15 AM to 10:15 AM. All are welcome to attend.

Where should I park?

Parking is available on-site. When you arrive, simply park in any open space. If you need assistance, someone from our church family will be happy to help point you in the right direction.

What are services like?

At WCC, our services blend a contemporary style with the richness of tradition. Each service typically includes uplifting worship, heartfelt prayers, Bible readings, a Christ-centered sermon, a shared statement of faith, and prayers for our church, community, and nation. We also celebrate Communion together. Occasionally, we may include special elements to enhance the worship experience — and we’ll always let you know in advance. Expect a welcoming environment, meaningful worship, and a message that speaks to your everyday life.

Where does my child go during service?

Children are always welcome to sit with you during service. At the 10:30 a.m. service, we also offer a vibrant Children’s Ministry for kids ages 4 to 12, featuring age-appropriate worship, Bible lessons, and fun activities. After our opening praise, children are invited to join their adult leaders for a meaningful time designed just for them.

What should I bring?

There’s no checklist — just bring yourself, an open heart, and a willing spirit. If you have a Bible, feel free to bring it, especially if you’d like to follow along during the message or participate in Bible study. Most importantly, come as you are and expect to feel welcomed and encouraged.

How should I dress?

At WCC, we want you to feel comfortable with no pressure. We are excited that you’re joining us and want you to be focused on the service than what you’re wearing. It’s not uncommon to see people wearing jeans. Others prefer to still put on their “Sunday best,” and that’s fine too! We think you will fit in no matter how you dress to visit with us.

Can I invite others to come with me?

Absolutely! We encourage you to invite friends, family, neighbors, or co-workers to join you for worship — especially during special times like Christmas and Easter. If they already have a church home, great! If not, it’s a wonderful opportunity to share the love of Christ and let them experience the joy of Christian community. If they’re curious about Jesus, your invitation could open the door to something life-changing. Always extend the invitation with kindness and respect, just as you’d want your own beliefs to be honored.

Will I be asked to stand or speak?

No pressure here — we won’t single you out or ask you to speak publicly. You’re welcome to participate as much or as little as you feel comfortable. Our goal is to make your first visit easy, relaxed, and welcoming.
