Dear Gracious and Faithful God,
How majestic is your name in all the earth, there is no one equal or greater than you, you alone are worthy to be praised. May the words and the meditations of our hearts be acceptable to you. Thank you for hearing our prayers. You have given us dancing instead of mourning. Our hearts are filled with joy unspeakable.

We Cried, for leadership in our nation that would serve all the people, all the time. While no man or woman is perfect, we thank you for a perfect idea that we are all created equal in your sight.

We Cried, that the long denied full citizen voting rights, would take place, allowing black and brown citizens to exercise their vote without the threat of voter fraud and recounting of the ballots in black and brown communities.

We Cried, for relief of the COVID-19 virus that has affected a disproportionate number of black and brown people, and has claim the lives of so many still.

Thank you, God, for hearing the prayers of your children who for so long have struggled against racial and social injustices in a land we helped build with our own sweat and blood at the mercy of cruel task masters. Help us rise-up to new potential allowing us to be the head and not the tail in all our efforts. Give us integrity and spiritual leadership. May we teach our children your ways and pray constantly for your grace in the journey. We know without a doubt that “our weapons of warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God, and the pulling down of strongholds”. Tear down strongholds of hatred in our nation and let justice and peace reign down. Amen.

Prayers & Love,

Michelle Obleton, First Lady of WCC
